Especially other members of the family and
friends around have a particular role in regards
to loosing weight. For instance, if one has 10
kg extra, the slipping out process may last for
more or less 8 weeks, namely 2 months, during
the course of 2 months, other than the support
of the specialist; other factors (i.e. if a
member of the family starts to run a diet and
begins to loose weight, s/he should have the
support of other family members) are pretty
significant as well, that is to say, if a
husband is on a diet, he should not ask from his
wife to prepare his “favorites”. Moreover, one
should not consume the “venoms” such as,
desserts, pastries, and etc. of the diet. Other
members of the family should eat by praising
extravagantly next to the person (they can have
their “favorites” outside or the person may be
taken out of the room) who is on a diet. The
best thing would be just to accompany the person
and eat the food s/he is having which would suit
the witty saying goes like:
“All for one and one for all”.
One should definitely bear in mind that, s/he
cannot loose weight every week. For instance, in
order to get rid of 10 kg, the period stops more
or less in two conditions; the former, is
metabolism’s stoppage of loosing weight, the
latter, is the body’s water holding after the
menstruation period of women (this condition may
even last for 48 hours -2 days- after the final
day of the menstruation period, furthermore, one
can even gain weight at this particular time but
this is definitely not a issue to be considered
seriously and worry). At this point, it is very
beneficial for one to continue to the diet from
the point where s/he left. Another important
thing is that, if one has, for instance, 20-40
kg of extra, s/he should start to go on a diet
under the control of an acupuncture specialist,
doctor or a dietician. If one tries to run a
diet on his/her own according to the diets which
can be observed in the media (i.e. Sweden,
Norway, Ethiopia or celebrity diets), distorting
effects (blood sugar or tension may decrease and
as a result one may faint, moreover, if one
continues to go on the diet without having
his/her blood controls done, anemia may occur in
blood as a consequence of insufficiency of iron
and consequently, may loose hair or get his/her
nails broken, furthermore, in some serious cases
it can even lead to coma and death) may be
observed in health. Additionally, one may take
several breaks, for example, after loosing 10
kg, one may pause the diet for 2 weeks and have
his/her “favorites” which s/he should have
missed (this situation can be compared to the
recesses, which are taken by students after
following a lesson for 45 minutes, in schools).
This is a process goes on like that. Afterwards
the 2nd 10 kg are aimed.
Thank Goodness, we have got rid of our over-weight
but how can we maintain this shape? I always
say: “Victory is ours, but we should continue
this for a lifetime” Of course, this does not
mean that we would be on a diet for a lifetime
but if this, on the other hand, perceived as
“oh, finally the bloody diet is over, we can eat
anything we like unconsciously”, maybe you
cannot gain weight for the first 2 or 3 months
but in the long run, one is sentenced of gaining
weight and the rest is, disappointment of course.
In this case, you should at least visit your
doctor every once in a month. Don’t you have a
haircut every once in a month anyway? It is the
same thing, if we eat one kind of food at every
meal together with a plate of food accompanied
by salad and yoghurt which we may desire we will
not gain weight. In addition to that, we can
have two kinds of milk desserts (i.e. milk
pudding, keşkül, kazandibi, ice-cream) or quince/pumpkin
desserts (though, cream and walnut should not be
spread over it) per week. The saying which goes
like “may the death of the horse come from the
barley” would be invalid under those
circumstances because there will be no more
horse if the horse dies as a result of that.
