Before all, one should consent the fact that the
treatment of fatness lasts for a lifetime.
Namely, if one starts to eat unconsciously right
after the diets final day, s/he will gain all
the lost weight soon. The bottom line here is,
when someone is on a diet, s/he must be under
control of a doctor or an acupuncture specialist
because when loosing weight without vitamin
support, one may start to loose hair, have dry
skin, pimples, reddening and wounds start to
occur in the body due to the insufficiency of
vitamins (i.e. a, b, c, d, e, k), and minerals (such
as, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, mangan) in the
body. Furthermore, uncontrolled diets may lead
to irregular menstruation in women and impotency
in men and moreover, they may establish basis
for deadly diseases. Thus, one should loose
weight under doctor control. The accepted form
of loosing weight in terms of medicine is to
loose 3-4 weight per month. People who feel
bothered by their over-weight may try to loose
weight suddenly and rapidly and this would make
them happy for a very short period of time, they
may even praise themselves by saying: “Hey, look!
I have lost 5 kg in a week!” or “I’ve made it!
I’ve lost 8 kg in 2 weeks!” Generally, people
exaggerate this situation and even if they have
lost 1 kg they introduced it by saying that they
have lost 2-2.5 kg. Even though this “praising”
period may make one happy but actually, it is
only fooling somebody’s own.
In diet, a person who has not been on a diet
before may loose more weight (for example, 2-6
kg) in the very first week, in fact, the weight
which has been given away is the water but still,
it motivates people in the first week and cheer
them up. In this respect, it would be wrong if
one expects to loose the same amount of weight
in the second week. In some weeks, one may not
loose weight at all. Furthermore, another err is
the appetite syrups (actually, they are for
allergies) for the use of children. The
stimulations of those syrups may cause the
saturation centers not to function properly and
ironically, parents start to make their children
slim. Indeed, it would be such a delightful
thing to squeeze the child’s “healthy” and
beautiful cheeks but this could also be a sing
of a fatness which may last for a lifetime.
In the years of education, fast food, pizza and
hamburger period starts. Students meet with
their friend in those kinds of places and have
high calorie foods, drink colas and finally,
fatness… But, won’t we eat any of those at all?
Intermittently, 1-2 times a month. The vegetable
meals which are prepared by our lovely mothers
are much more delicious though. Afterwards, men
join the army in order to do their mandatory
service and women get married, pregnancy and
give birth; the consequence of all these events
are either loosing or getting weight.
As a consequent of wrong applied diets, one may
loose so much weight that s/he may have weight
under average and may not gain weight at all
again. In this case, one should definitely
consult to a doctor because this case may be a
sign of diseases such as, anemia and
insufficiency of liver.
HOW CAN LOST WEIGHT BE KEPT AND FIXED
After one has lost weight in a healthy way under
the control of a doctor or an acupuncturist, s/he
should have to change the order of nourishment.
In case of a desire for dessert, one may milk or
fruit desserts (such as, ice-cream, milk pudding,
keşkül, kazandibi, and pumpkin dessert) for 1-2
times a week, but on the other hand, a person
should avoid eating desserts which include flour
within (i.e. baklava, kadayıf*, though they may
be taken once per month). In terms of a food
order, one should have either vegetable foods
which are prepared with less-fat or meat foods
that are cooked fat-free, at every meal time one
plate. That is to say, one may have a plate of
meat karnıyarık** and may have red mullet or okra
(including less fat). The most essential thing
here is that one should eat junk food in between
and drink 3 liters of water every day because
those who drink lesser water are inclined to
gain weight. If a person can protect his/her
body’s shape for minimum 6 months or a year and
then have a proper nourishment order, the lost
weight cannot be gained. Other than that, sports
and exercises are a must. Even getting off the
bus before one station and walk the remaining
way, not using elevator and climb stairs instead
at least for once a week or taking walks with
family members at weekends may be enough. I also
