The meaning of the word cellulite implies an
infection which can be found either in dermis or
under-dermis tissue. In terms of medicine,
however, it is referred as “Adiposis Edematosa”
or “Dermo Panniclois”. Also, in the cosmetic
sense, there is no type of infection in the case
of cellulite. In this respect, cellulite is the
imprisoning of under dermis fat cells (later
will be observed in small groups) by a more
strict cord tissue called fibrin (as a result of
this, the dermis has the shape of an “orange
peel”). Therefore, dermis is seen as distorted
in a rough sense. In other words, the reason of
this type of cellulite is neither a microbe nor
a bacterium.
First, these small groups are in a micro-state.
If not treated, they reach to a macro-state (which
would hard to cure) gradually. Shortly, this
condition can be explained as “forming of
another country/ies within the borders of one
country”. This is a case which cannot be treated
through diets.
In another sense -in the sense of aesthetics in
medicine-, it is named as “Hydro-lipo-dystrophy”
(Water-Fat-Distortion). That is to say, liquid
accumulation between the cells and the size
together with the amount of the fat cells
increase therefore, the skin goes bad.
In celluloid mainly:
1- Distortions (increasing in diameter and
amount) in fat cells start,
2- Interval tissue (supporting tissue) of the
skin, namely, fibroblast, also supplies the
flexibility of the skin. Distortions start in
this, surround and imprisoning the fat cells,
3- The circulation of lymph and venous under the
skin slows down,
4- Distortion in the water metabolism and
related to this, water is accumulated in high
amounts in cells
Cellulite cannot be observed until adolescence.
With the first menstruation of her, a feminine
also meets with celluloid because in women, the
secreted progesterone and especially estrogenic
hormone prepare the basis for celluloid.
There are chiefly two types of celluloid:
1- HARD CELLULITE:
In this case, under-dermis is hard. But the case
must be distinguished from the case of the ones
who are involved in sports and (as a result)
having hard leg muscles. Sometimes leg muscles
of a person who has done sports may be hard
whereas the leg skin and cord tissue may be soft.
The position of this type of cellulite is the
same under every condition (i.e. lying, standing).
While the skin is very hard, veins are blue and
superficial. Higher dermis is knobby, warm and
dry.
2- SOFT CELLULITE:
Skin dermis is softer, moist, in the shape of
sponge. Cellulite varies according to the body
position. No pain is felt in the skin. Observed
in people who gain and loose weight frequently
and its treatment is harder.
The factors which prepare ground for the
formation of cellulite are:
A- Beginning of adolescence,
B- Period following pregnancy,
C- Premenopouse and Menopouse period.
Cellulite is observed more or less in %90 of
women.
IN WHICH PARTS OF BODY DOES IT ACCUMULATE ?
Most likely, on the knees, inner parts of the
ankles, back and inner parts of the calf, back
and side parts of the leg, under haunch along
with side parts. In men, side part of the belly
which exists under the armpit.
MESOTHERAPHY
Mesotherapy: It is a treatment method applied on
the middle dermal of the skin. Undertaken with
the needles which have the diameter of 0.3-0.4
mm and length of 3-5 mm, and more or less thin
as bristle. According to the type of the disease
and cellulite, a medicine cocktail is prepared
by putting various types of medicines in the
injector. Realized by the superficial injection
on the skin of the patient with spaces of 1-3
cm. Diseases applied:
1- Arthrosis,
2- Acute rheumatisms,
3- Fibromyalgia and tendinitis (Muscle and
tendon diseases),
4- Twists related to sports and accidents,
5- Bursitis,
6- Varicose, Phlebitis,
7- Migraine,
8- Spastic colon,
9- Trigeminal and facial neuralgia,
10- Neuralgias of neck and shoulder aches,
11- Pelat (loss of hair due to stress like coin
shape),
12- Allergic asthma,
13- Skin wrinkles,
14- CELLULITE.
In 1952, Mesotherapy has been applied for the
first time in France. It is being applied in
most countries of Europe, Turkey, USA and South
America. It has two types of effects:
a- Hitting (striking) effect: Even though a tiny
needle is being pierced to the body, there is a
rush of hydrolysis histamine and defender
erythrocytes known as macrophage towards that
region. This cause the veins first shrink and
then widen towards the opposite direction,
b- Pharmacological effect: Medicines which have
been injected through the widened veins become
effective gradually. Namely, breaking into
pieces of the fat (which is called lypolysis)
throwing out of the edema (water), the cracking
of fibrin tissues which imprison fat cells and
the increasing of the permeability of lymph
along with capillary vessels are observed.
SIDE-EFFECT
It does not have an evident side-effect; however,
an allergy may take progress against the
medicine used. Therefore, the patient should be
asked if s/he has used the medicines that are
going to be used in mesotherapy previously and
if so, any extreme reaction has observed or not.
If necessary, mesotherapy has to be applied 72
hours after the medicine allergic test. It is
not applied in pregnant, in cancerous cases and
extreme feverish diseases. Additionally, it
cannot be implemented in eczema and under
skatris tissue.
Little bleedings and as a result of them,
temporary bruises can develop related to the
application. This is quite normal. Bruises will
vanish after 10-15 days. Therefore, the exact
treatment of aesthetic cellulite is MESOTHERAPHY.
APPLICATION
Varies from person to person and type of the
cellulite together with the age of the patient
and the amount of period of the cellulite.
Generally, 8-14 sessions are sufficient. In some
cases, however, it may be continued until 30
sessions (by implementing it with intervals). At
the beginning, the sessions are implemented 2
times a week and after the patient’s respond to
the treatment, may be altered to either once in
a week or once in 15 days. After (1, 2, 3, 6, 12
months) the accomplishment of the treatment,
therapy should be undertaken once in terms of
continuation (in order to avoid the forming of
the cellulite).
During the course of the treatment, one should
pay whole attention to the diet recommended by
the doctor, and if possible, should not take
salt at all, or use it minimally and ought to
expend maximum amount of water (2 liters ).
PROTECTION
As mentioned above, one ought to continue
treatments and it must not be forsaken that
cellulite and fatness are the diseases which we
have to struggle for a lifetime. Moreover,
attention must be drawn to the lost weights in
order not to gain them.
CORPUS LINE
In the last 10 years, this treatment has become
widely popular among doctors and aestheticians
and as a matter of fact, has turn into their
primary treatment method.
Special electrical currents and conducting pads
are applied. Therefore, this method is
undertaken in terms of pressing the body skin
and cellulite treatments successfully. The
treatment has three phases:
1st PHASE: Thanks to the frequency applied for
10-15 minutes, fats and cellulite dissolve and
start to function,
2nd PHASE: The current which was applied for
10-15 minutes causes to form a more rigid cord
tissue by contracting the body skin,
3rd PHASE: By applying pads for 15-20 minutes,
lymph and vein which exist under dermis will be
stimulated and therefore, natural drainage will
start to take place.
Thus, while loosing weight by running special
diets, it is also possible to get away of the
fats of desired part of the body in terms of
breaking them. Basic feature is the shape (it
will be more rigid and recovered) which the body
skin will have finally. Skin laxity reduces
fairly. During the course of this treatment,
salt usage must be decreased while water
expending should be increased.
The patients who have both fatness and cellulite
problems prefer to go through Corpus Line and
Mesotherapy treatments at the same time. The
results are charming, indeed.
Whereas treatments can be undertaken twice a
week, they can be carried out for once as well.
Generally last for, 10-20 sessions. In terms of
being over-weighted, the treatment may be
expounded through particular periods and the
results can be observed evidently earlier than a
month.
